Go Safari… (almost)

SafariSo apple announces Safari 3 Beta on Mac & PC with updates including 'advanced text' which practically means contextual glyphs finally done properly. Early glimpse of the Mac version shows that Apple has abandoned its default Giza font which appeared irrespective of the font chosen on the website to something more horrible (if that's even possible). The letters are all connected properly (well, almost) but are now rendered in a pseudo Arabic Transparent Windows look-alike font.

Arabic on Safari

Come on Apple.. There are more Arabic system fonts out there.. it's not rocket science to enable them.. Even Microsoft could do it! You can download Safari 3 Beta for Mac or PC from apple.com »
